Your location and walking a boundary

Add My Location (in the + menu, ⌘L on the Mac) adds a point where you stand to the selected shape. Geo Measure asks for location permission the first time.

Track My Position (⇧⌘T on the Mac) records a boundary as you walk it, adding a point each time you move the Point Spacing set in Settings › Tracking (5 m by default). With no shape selected, or a circle, it starts a new area. Fixes less accurate than 15 m are skipped. A bar over the map shows “Tracking your position”, the points so far, the current accuracy, and Stop.

Tracked points are joined by straight lines whatever the routing menu says, and the whole walk is one undo step. Tracking runs while Geo Measure is open on screen; on iPhone and iPad, Keep the Screen On While Tracking (on by default) stops the screen from locking. Closing the document stops tracking.
