Documents open in windows, save themselves and keep versions (File ▸ Revert To). The drawing tools sit at the top of the side panel; every command is also in the menu bar:

Drop a GPX, KML or GeoJSON file on the map to import it. In 3D, drag to turn and scroll to zoom.
